She began working in accounting 15 years ago, handling accounts receivable for a luxury property management company. Her time working in luxury hospitality was enjoyable and taught her the importance of going above and beyond for clients.

Jenna ventured away from hospitality and started working for a full-charge bookkeeping company as an Account Manager. She was responsible for on boarding new clients, cleaning up accounts, and establishing accounting processes. In addition, she oversaw a team of bookkeeping specialists auditing financials for accuracy and ensuring the timeliness of financial statements. This experience helped her gain expertise in payroll services and expand her knowledge into many other industries.

FAQ section

Why do I need a bookkeeper?

P
O
Hiring a bookkeeper ensures accurate record-keeping and tax compliance and can help businesses avoid costly penalties. Having a bookkeeper can allow you to focus your time and attention on growing your business and meeting the needs of day-to-day operations. A skilled bookkeeper will also work with you to ensure the management of cash flow and the understanding of your financial health, allowing you to make more informed decisions.

What qualities should my bookkeeping company possess?

P
O
A qualified bookkeeper should be well versed in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and an expert in the accounting software they use. They should also possess organizational skills and have excellent attention to detail. Bookkeepers should be timely in their responses and consistent in meeting deadlines.

I am turning my bookkeeping over to you; what are the next steps?

P
O
First, I want to learn more about your business and understand your accounting processes and goals. After learning more about your business, I will complete a full audit of your current financials. Once I have completed this audit, we will review my findings and discuss any changes and tax strategies that need implementation. We will set up a plan to complete the cleanup and a recurring plan for future bookkeeping.

How quickly can you have my account cleaned up?

P
O
I work quickly and meticulously. I understand the importance of accurately updating your financial statements. During the process, I may need statements, account access, or a better understanding of transactions from you. Working together and timely responses ensure a swift turnaround.

What accounting software do you use?

P
O
I am a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor with expertise in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and QuickBooks Payroll.
I also use QuickBooks ProConnect for tax preparation services, which allows me to transfer information from your QuickBooks Online accounts quickly and efficiently.

I do not have a QuickBooks account.

P
O
Allow me to help you with that. As a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, I get a wholesale discount and can reduce the cost of your QuickBooks software.

How much do you charge for your services?

P
O
Charges vary based on the size of your business, the transactions you have each month, and the services you require. Contact us today for an estimate.

What about data security?

P
O
Federal law gives the Federal Trade Commission authority to set data safeguard regulations for professional tax preparers. As an Enrolled Agent, I work diligently to create and carry out a security plan to protect your data.

What is an Enrolled Agent?

P
O
An Enrolled Agent is authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS in various tax matters, including IRS audits, collections, and appeals. To become an Enrolled Agent, a person must pass a three-part comprehensive exam, pass a suitability check, and complete 72 hours of continuing education every three years.

Do I need a CPA?

P
O
As an Enrolled Agent, I specialize in taxation; I provide tax planning advice, ensure compliance with tax laws, and assist with tax audits and appeals. For most small businesses, using an Enrolled Agent can eliminate paying for services you don’t need. However, a CPA might be better for you if you have a more complex situation and need financial planning.

Can you work with my CPA?

P
O
Of course. I can complete your bookkeeping and payroll tasks and provide your CPA with all the information they need to complete their services. This combination can help keep your costs low and allows your CPA to complete their tasks more quickly and efficiently.

Why do you need last year's tax return?

P
O
Some information on your previous year’s tax return can affect this year’s tax return. Reviewing your previous return lets me ensure I have all the necessary tax documents and that nothing gets forgotten or missed. It will also allow me to prepare the best strategy for future tax seasons and help disclose any differences in your tax return from the previous year.
